Paragliding in Reunion Island
Reunion Island is one of the most renowned places in the world for paragliding.
There are about fifteen runways in Reunion. But the runway in Colimaçons (Saint Leu) is one of the best suited for paragliding. The runway ends in a gentle slope, overlooking a cane field at 800 m altitude. A departure is also possible at 1500 m. A flight lasts between 15 and 25 minutes from the site of Colimaçons to the beach.
About fifteen structures offer practising this sport, either in the form of associations that gather autonomous pilots, or as a professional structure that allows outsiders to perform first flights or air students to take courses.
