Going out on the Indian Ocean

flag
Sea activities in Reunion Island
Even if Reunion Island is a delight for hikers of all levels, water sports enthusiasts will not be left behind: surfing, kitesurfing, diving, big game fishing, jet skiing, sailing, sea trips, or just swimming at the beach (because you are also entitled to simply... rest !)... There is something for everyone!

Boat trips

To appreciate Reunion Island from the sea side, nothing like a trip aboard a boat; "apéritif / sunset at sea" on a glass bottom boat, going out on a day or half-day trip on a charter sailboat, a group outing on an old traditional fishing boat or renting a motor boat possibly with fishing gear (if you have a boat license). You are very likely to come across some joyful dolphins that love to play in the bow wave ...

Diving

Divers too will admire the coast from the club's boat, before diving under the waters of the Indian Ocean and mix with the rich underwater fauna: triggerfish, clownfish, parrotfish, moray eels, anemones, giant clams, corals, turtles ... All dive centers will take you out diving at day or night, for your first dive or a training course that awards a "level".

Sliding

To experience the exhilaration of sliding, rather opt for windsurfing ( "funboarding" if you are more at ease), jet skiing, kitesurfing or surfing. For some, it will be the opportunity to try these board sports supervised by experienced club instructors, while others will add to their prize list the most renowned spots world wide.

Big Game Fishing

Finally, if you prefer tasting the pleasures of big game fishing (blue marlin, swordfish, skipjack, tuna, mahi mahi, "thon banane" ...), you will not be disappointed; just try to match the feminine world record established by a Reunionese woman who caught a 1212 pound marlin in 2003!!
