Totototal, the 2013 Youth Festival

Until March 7th, children have an appointment with the artistic creations of a wide range of artists.

If, after the beach, the sand castles, exploring the green slopes, if the sun blushes their fragile skin a little too much, take your children discover the Totototal Festival!

The Young Audience Festival offers six shows. Some theater of course with “Quand les poules auront des ailes” (i.e. "When pigs fly") a Théatrenfance creation that combines theater, puppetry and music to captivate the attention of younger children. You can also accompany them in "dans l’axe", the first circus show of the talented local company « les Pieds en l’air » ; tightrope walking and juggling performed by two "joiners" with eight logs, nine boards and two trestles. Also on the program, dance and percussion, all with humor, with the creation of "Echoa" by the Arscom Company. Your offspring likes cartoons? The Magic Lantern has chosen a series of six short films from Belgium, Swiss and even Estonia made with crayons and simple materials reviving the tradition and the poetry of yesteryear’s animated movies, against the current of the 3D industry. Your children prefer puppets? The Theatre des Alberts will take your little ones in its joyful and colorful Creole initiatory tale « Tigouya, lo margouya té i vé allé voir la mer ». If they’re interested in Creole culture, they will go on with « Ticoulitintin, le martin malin », the recital of lullabies that tickles the toes of the Pat'Jaune on texts by Joëlle Ecormier.

The Festival also offers some workshops to the young public. It thinks of those who need to exercise with old-fashioned games and giant games on the forecourt of the theater: koursbrouèt (wheel barrel race), a giant Connect 4 game or the tire pusher game. To make their dream come true and have the right outfit for it, your kids will see to it with Marie-Chocolat and her "magic hands" workshop to make their own special costume. If they are keen on reading, before or after the show, they can dig into the boxes overflowing with books from the ephemeral library at their disposal in the lobby of the theater. Unless Sigrid and Bruno have installed their "scent organ" there, a workshop to discover the 5 senses where they can transform all kinds of recyclable materials and discover the scents of plants from Reunion.

Finally, do not be surprised by the herd of elks that will welcome you in the lobby. "Elk" is an exhibition by the students of Lycée Professionnel Roche Maigre and Yohann Quëland de Saint-Pern. All this is very tempting. But a little piece of advice: you’d better book in advance.
