RANDO SENSATION - Hikking Trekking in Reunion Island

Enlarge the map

Patrice will guide you on these wild trails in the heart of the intense island, his country, Reunion Island, where you will discover ancient traditions and taste the Creole flavors.
Welcome !

Mafate, first inhabited by “Maroon” slaves who escaped from their masters, then drew the attention of fans of hydrotherapy thanks to the sulfur spring of Mafate.
Today, it is a paradise for hikers. Nowadays, few inhabited places are only accessible on foot. Mafate as such is an exceptional site, full of history of the foundations of Reunion’s culture. The many small hamlets, called "ilets" here, are interconnected with the outside by simple walking trails. This therefore makes it a favorite place for hikers in search of serenity and scenery.
The cirque offers amazing contrasts in the vegetation and colored wood forests.
Many gullies and waterfalls carve its steep reliefs.

To discover Reunion on the Nature side, three hiking tours are offered:

The three cirques and the Piton des Neiges
6 day trek
Level of difficulty:
2 "shoes": about 13 km per day, 7 hours daily / prior physical preparation advised.
Rates:
Guide fees: € 900 (total per group, for minimum 4 persons)
Accommodation and meals in Mafate: 3 nights in a stopover gite or bivouac (specified on quotation).

Description:
This tour allows you to discover Cilaos’s lentil fields and craggy landscapes and minerals; the wild and isolated cirque of Mafate and then Salazie’s dazzling waterfalls and tropical greenery.

You will go through some of the most beautiful, rich and varied vegetation types. You will enjoy a constantly changing landscape, which results in the formation of new species.
At the top of the Piton des Neiges, you will discover the oldest lava flows, some of them 2.1 million years old, and an exceptional view of the island.

The loop in Mafate

Mafate, the inhabited heart of the National Park, is accessible only on foot or by helicopter. The only natural gateway is a valley that allows the flow of water to the ocean. The ramparts, present in both mountains, mark out chaotic and constantly changing landscapes.
