Lava tunnels

As an unusual and memorable activity, an expedition in a lava tunnel will not leave you indifferent: a stay in Reunion is really a unique opportunity to discover behind the scenes of a still active volcano and its underground labyrinths!
Some tunnels are suitable for children from 6 years old, others are more “sporty” and include abseiling, passages in climbing sections and others in narrow galleries.
All these expeditions are punctuated by moments of observation and explanations from your guide.

Location: enclosure of the volcano (flow of 2004), Sainte Rose, l'Eperon (west coast), Saint Philippe (Caverne Gendarmes)

Duration: between 3h and 4h30, depending on the tunnel

Public: all public from 6 years old

What to bring: old clothes. Helmets, knee pads and gloves provided.

Canyoning

Come and understand why Reunion is called "the canyon island"!
The geological history of the island has given a rugged relief giving mountains but also prodigious gorges dotted with freshwater basins, our playground for canyon outings full of sensations!
Jumps, zip lines, abseiling and sliding down natural slides punctuate the descent into the heart of lush nature.

Public: State-certified guides offer canyoning expeditions to adventurers who can swim from the age of 8, beginners or experienced (depending on the difficulty of the canyons)!

Location: From St Joseph (Langevin, Grand Galet) to Ste Suzanne (Bassin Bœuf) via Cilaos (Fleurs Jaunes, Bras Rouge) or Salazie (Trou Blanc) or the forest of Bélouve (Trou de Fer, Takamaka), take the occasion to discover this territory classified as World Heritage by UNESCO from the inside!

Duration: 1/2 day, day, or even bivouac over 2 days

What to bring: swimsuit, trainers. Wetsuits, vests and helmets are provided.

Aquatic canyoning

Take the plunge and enjoy Reunion with a fun and refreshing aquatic approach! After a short approach walk, it's up to you to jump (inevitable 1.5 m jump, the rest according to your wishes!), swimming in the pools and sliding down the natural slides!

Location: Rivière des Roches, in the green East, between Bassin la Mer and Bassin la Paix

Duration: half day

Public: adults and children from 9 years old who are at ease in the water

Volcano Hikes

To discover its majesty the Piton de la Fournaise off the beaten tracks in complete safety, the call of a professional guide is essential.
You will benefit from his knowledge of the places which constantly evolve with the numerous eruptions of the volcano, and from his comments on the volcanism, geology, fauna and flora of this very particular environment.

Location: volcano enclosure, summit of Piton de la Fournaise, Plaine des Sables

Duration: 2h to 8h walk, early departure (7h30 on site)

What to bring: good sneakers or hiking shoes, waterproof jacket, fleece or sweater, hat or cap, sunscreen (50+), sunglasses, 2 liters of water, picnic, walking sticks (possible loan on demand)
